These were two great events in which various subjects from technical to legal to promotion to personnel were discussed. The panelist talked about why they made their films, how (from the get the cash to want editing systems they used), to the SF film making scene, to movie houses all over.

Laura Plotkin shared her wonderful reel (with clips of "Red Rain") and gave a technical explanation of various types of formats and editing and about schooling. Jon Waldrep also helped with the tech talk and talked about festivals. Thad Povey showed his beautiful Scatch Film Junkie work and discussed his film medium. Kevin Epps talked about funding, community involvement, and guerilla film making.

Kia Simon, who showed some of her great music videos and dance videos, told stories of funding her early work and filming in Mexico and Russia. Sarah Kennedy talked about distribution and screening of both independent porn and independent films in general. Gerry Fialka talked about movie houses all over and gave great quotes from McCullan and others; also he talked about festivals. Gordon Winiemko, who quickly talked us through a getting the right for music and images and such, talked about the SF film community opposed to that one in Detroit and showed "Enjoy".

The panels were funny, had good information, and a very comfortable flow among the speakers, moderator and audience. It was more like a small party then a workshop.
